Taking nice tank photos?

Hey all. *waves* It's me again.

I didn't know whether to post this in Betta Art, or here but I chose here to be on the safe side.

Does anyone have any pointers for taking really good tank photos with Olympus digital cameras? Mine's not fancy and the quality isn't too rad either. <:/

I may not be taking them right though and I'd really like to share my NPT with the forum.The tank -pretty much filters itself with the wisteria and water sprite I have in there and I'm proud of it!

While my planting doesn't really look all that beautiful (my layout was pretty terrible I'll admit) it always looks 20x worse in photos that I take. :[

So yeah any camera tips would be awesome! <3

Hi ^.^ I was just going through my things today and found my old Olympus camera! I need a charger for it though so I don't remember the specs. .
I currently have a Samsung digi cam and I play with the different settings for my fish. First I remove the canopy (well in my case it's a KK cover but it darkens the water) and beam a desk lamp down the top or across a side (try different ones to get different silhouette effects.) And I use whatever gets Lakitu's attention (which is anything) for him to flare or even to come out. And take a ka-jillion pictures bc that's the only way to get good ones.
If you can, move the tank to a window temporarily. Or put the fish in a clear q tank for the photo shoot. The natural light really brings out the best looks and depending on the background can make them seem like theyre just floating.

Macro setting works incredibly on action shots if the ISO is high.

Try both with flash and without.

If you aim at an angle the flash doesn't ruin the picture. (see my avatar)

Child playing/action setting works good.

Bright light setting also works well sometimes.
