Heartbroken at Meijer

Went to Meijer today. Met a lady 'rescuing' bettas into bowls. I felt bad, but she sounded like she kept up on water changes, and she was buying three of them.

I noticed a multicolored betta with pretty much no fins. His cup was cracked and there was hardly enough water for him to swim in. On top of that, tons of fish in the aquatic area were dead, and clearly left to rot in their tanks.

Even though I'm downsizing, I wound up asking about getting the poor guy at a discount. Despite his injuries, he was very active. The guy just gave me a funny look and actually walked away from me with him, and took him to the back. He didn't come back with him.

I really honestly think he just dumped the poor boy down the sink. *sigh*

Ooooh apparently you're stronger than me for that kind of stuff, I went off on a manager like crazy at Walmart.. FOUR bettas in ONE cup.
