So, I love music. I'm constantly listening to it. I also love finding new really good artists or songs that I didnt know about. I figured, this forum is a pretty diverse group of people, why not ask and see what they have to say about music.

I'm wanting to know what styles of music people listen to, what bands people like, and what your really liking right now, like what song you cant help turning up in the car when it comes on the radio.

I'll start, I listen to everything, rock, rap, country, dubstep, punk, alternative, screamo, hip hop, whatever. I love linkin park, rise against, jason aldean, eminem, and so many others. Atm i'm going through a country phase and cant quit listening to Dirt Road Anthem and The House That Built Me.

I'm figuring that this can either be a flop or turn out to be pretty interesting.

Well, a lot of stuff I like is from the 70's and 80's. I'm about to turn 50 so that's what I grew up with. I have some almost 50 year old folk music that I love listening to. I grew up listening to it and I never get tired of it. It brings back some good memories.

I've never been much of a folk fan, but then again I've never really given it a chance, maybe i'll have to now. My dad just turned 47 and loves older rock, especially 80's hairbands so I've grown up with his music influence and like a good amount of older rock.

We seem to have close to the same preferences (when it comes to more rockish music haha). Old Linkin Park is so much better, Hybrid Theory was amazing and there newest album (i dont even know whats its called) is horrid.
Breaking Benjamin is another one of my all time favorites.

I like anything that isn't Rap or Country. I can't say I regularly deal drugs, evade police or have "had a hard life in the ghetto" so the content of rap registers inapplicable to me. Same goes for country - I've never had a tractor, my wife has never left me, and I've never spent a night at a bar drinking whiskey to soothe my pain.

I like pretty much everything from the 70's and 80's though. There isn't a ton I'm wild about that can be found on popular radio stations today, unfortunately.

Nexangelus, I get what your saying about radio, most of it is the some thing over and over. Most rap i dont like, but eminem I really have an obsession with, something about his style i just love. As far as country, well I'm from Kentucky, its just a southern thing haha.

I love BB, so sad about the haitus there taking though, luckily i got to see them a couple months back and it was a pretty good show, Chevelle was before them and they stole the show.

Three Days Grace is also another band im addicted too.
