Oooh, he's such a pretty veil tail! And what an awesome tank. Good for you for starting out with something so nice and well size. :D Alot of new people don't. I also see a heater and a thermometer, great job! Very pretty.

Welcome to the forums and congrats on your first betta!

Hey - you're in Newfoundland? I went to Gros Morne this summer for vacation. Awesome place.

Thanks everyone. He seems to be settled right in and enjoying his new tank and ate 2 NLS Betta pellets. Reading these forums gave me the knowledge to set up his tank correctly. I also have had a 40g community tank for years so fish-keeping in general is not foreign to me.

Yup I am in Newfoundland but on the east side of the island (Torbay) a good 8 hour drive from Gros Morne but I have been there and it is absolutely beautiful.

He's gorgeous! How about you name him Marino? He's such a gorgeous ocean blue!

No the fluval chi does not come with a lid but my husband cut out some plexiglass to make me one. I really like the looks of the chi and the filter is super quiet and doesn't seem to bother my Betta.
