What is a good 3 day feeder for my Betta?

I'm going to leave town on a weekend trip for Three days. I have a Betta and a really don't want him to die. I don't have any friends that i would feel comfortable having them come and feed him. I have heard people say that the feeder things just foul up the water and that they can cause health problems. Is this true?
What should i do to make sure he is fed while im gone?
Thank you!

I *believe* the feeders can halp create an ammonia spike. Adult bettas who are healthy can live up to 2 weeks without food before they starve. So feed him as you walk out the door, when you come home, feed him right away and he should be just fine. How big is the tank?

Oh, and don't over feed him the day before in hopes to make him hold off longer, don't want him to get constipated and in trouble while you are away.

Then you should be just fine. Don't forget to turn the light off before you leave, and enjoy your vacation! :)

You shouldn't have any problem leaving him for 3 days with no food. He'll be fine.

You have to get these if it's for a betta (shown on Amazon but you can get them at your LPS too )

I have used them and they work well!

EDIT: or you can leave him if it's only 3 days
