Clear Beard?

Is it possible to have a clear beard on a betta fish? I could not get a good look at my new boy at the store this evening, but I think he was flaring at a fish I put next to him (trying to see a little of his personality), so when he was wiggling fast at the other fish I thought he was just being funny, but I think I might have caught a glimpse of his beard. And if there is such a thing as clear beards, aren't they just on transparent fish? He is fairly marbled with light blue.

I think its totally possible! Especially for a marble or cellophane.. I have a blue marble whose beard is clear with blue spots and another that has clear and red patches.. Pitgurl recently put up pictures of on of her marble girl who has the cutest transparent beard. ^w^
