20gall stocking

Ma decided she wanted us to keep the sorority...just a little smaller and make a community tank.
I have a 20 gall, hevily planted (fake plants) and can get more.
I have 5-6 betta girls (one is removed becuse i think she may be a he) and 2 Albino coreys.
I want some Loaches (4).
i do NOT want snails/shrimp. I want something colorful and active.
What would work out in here? And how many?
Please and thank you:).

(oh, and no more betta girlys)

Also, i have a 10 gallon with 1 male, and again i dont want shrimp or snails, its not very heavily planted...but i plan on getting more plants. Again with wanting colorful and active. He isnt Super aggressive.

For loaches, a very good option is Kuhli Loaches, they get 4-5 inches long and have an extremely low bioload, for the 1 inch per gallon rule, use half of their length, so if it's 4 inches count is at 2. For the 10 gallon, you can do 3 female platies( don't get a male, they are livebearers and breed like crazy), 6 Neon Tetras, 4 Corydoras, or 6 Harlequin Rasboras

Yea i was plannin on the Kuhli Loaches. Would the Platies work for the 20 gall as well? And if i got the platies, i would get 1 male. The Loaches and the bettas will eat the fry, so they would get live foods.

if i did the same listing for the 20, could i fit a little of each of those fish in? its very densely planted.

And for Tetras, just neon or could i pick my own color? other then a fancy style of course.

Also what about Velvet sword tails?

The platies would work for a 20 gallon, yes. You can't do a little of each, because the cories school( as I'm sure you know), the Harlequins school, and the tetras school, so they would be uncomfortable. And even if it's Densely planted, that would still be overstocking. Neon tetras are the only ones you can put with bettas, as bigger tetras can be very nippy and hurt their fins. You shouldn't do Swordtails, they are pretty aggresive and fight with bettas.

Oh, I thought you meant different types of tetras, I think Jumbo Neons would be alright, but they could easily be Cardinal Tetras, which are nippy and get bigger.

ok, so its just adults rather then buying babys.

So in my 10: Soon to be filterd, getting more plants
3 Marigold Platies
3 Kuhli Loaches?
my male betta

20: Filterd, hevily planted
4 Kuhli Loaches
2 Corydouras
5 female bettas
4 Redtail Black Platies

Sound ok?
