Am I feeding correctly?

Hi I am currently feeding my betta 3 aqueon betta pellets at 9:00 am and 3 at 8:00 pm. Am I feeding correctly? Or should I decrease the amount of food?

Hi there, Trienchieu!

I think you might be feeding a tad bit too much. I usually do 4-5 pellets once a day, not 2 times.. So maybe limit it to 4-5 pellets?

I would also suggest getting some freeze dried bloodworms.. They come in little cans like the pellets and are a yummy and healthy treat for the fish! Once or twice a week, give your fish one big bloodworm and two pellets. And every regular day, feed the 4-5 pellets. So 4-5 five days a week, and lets say, saturday and sunday feed them two pellets and one worm.

Good luck with your fishy! :)

Trien are those the really small pellets? Because I have that brand at they are pretty darn small. I feed my guys 3-4 twice a day and they are doing just fine on it.

Yeah thats what I have. I feed my boys 3-5 a meal, I try for 3 or 4 but if one extra falls in it falls in. I haven't had any problems.

My family convince me to go for 5 pellets a day, idk since I think there's nothing wrong with 6 and he gets more nutrients on six

Well remember a betta's stomach is about the size of his eye give or take. Feeding too much can lead to swim bladder problems. So I find 4 at time to be the right number for me. Also remember the more diversity in their diet the better. Live food, and frozen too. I will be picking up frozen blood works next time I have money to do so for them. Mosquito larva are great food too.

I bought the hikari frozen blood worms but haven't use it yet, do you have any suggestion on how much to feed my betta in one cube. How many to feed in my 20 gallon tank with 12 fish consist of 4 mollies and the rest are guppies, and how many amount for feeding 10 guppy fries?

Oh ok then thank you, I probably wouldn't feed it until like Sunday or till I get info on how to feed them to my 3 tanks. When are you getting blood worms? If u do, can share your experience of feeding them to me?
