Bioload

Hey all, I just got a new 29 gallon tank, it's 30"L, 12"W, and 18.5"H,but I have it filled to 17". So, I was going to add either Pearl Danios or Zebra Danios, 6-7 of them. Then after it cycles, I was going to add 1 African Butterfly Fish, depending on what the LFS feeds them, and 4-5 Kuhli Loaches. My question is, is this tank suited for this bioload, and what weekly water changes should I do? Thanks!

I think the tank should be fine. I don't know about the loaches but the danios aren't very heavy on bioload... After it cycles you should do a water change once a week, I think around 30% and gravel cleaning every other week...

Ok, thanks fighter! I was going to count the danios and ABF with the 1-inch gallon rule, but for the loaches I think you count half of their length, they have a really low bioload.

Fish like mollies, platies, goldfish have a lot of bioload.. You can SEE it lol! Danios are tiny and they don't eat or poop much.. I don't know about the ABF though.. Ask Copper :>

I already PM'ed copper last night........though I can't imagine they have a ton of bioload. You're right about the platies, little gluttons......
