So no on the 300W adjustable heater? What if i only stick it halfway in the tank? =D

I'm going to condition and cycle the tank for a week before I put the fish in it. So I'll see how that heater does.

As far as the blood worms. When I clean them. Wash behind the ears or no?

If it is a glass heater I would not stick it half way into the tank. It could explode or crack when exposed to the air when it heats up.

Just to clarify things, a rule of thumb for heaters is 1 watt per litre of water. A ten gallon tank is 40 litres, so a 50w heater would be suitable.

Second that on submersible heaters. They need to be either fully submersed or not used at all. Small watt heaters are fairly cheap. Perhaps you could trade your 300w heater fo a smaller one on a classifieds site?
