My betta, King Fishy II was a picky eater. I struggled with finding a food that he would actually eat and not just spit out. I eventually found a pellet he would eat. He stayed eating these pellets for a couple months. Recently, I had the idea that I would try some of the old food he "stuck his nose up at" again to see what happens. I fed him one pellet of his normal food and then switched to the old food and HE ATE IT!!! I have been doing this for a few feedings now and he keeps eating the previously rejected food. Not only does this vary his diet a bit, but it means I don't need to throw out the perfectly good food he didn't want. I'm so pleasantly surprised! I post this to give hopes to other owners of picky fish. Perhaps you can sneak in some old food and it won't be wasted (money or otherwise).
