Exclamation Please Help me ID this Betta

I need some help! I rescued this DT from LPS . The colors in this picture are very true to what he looks like to the naked eye. His tail span is at least 180, but his tail does not connect to any of his other fins. His finage is very even. His ventrals are split at the tips 1/2 white 1/2 red. Is he a heart tail?

He is my Avatar!

DT cambodian. Not sure if he's VT or HM though. But the lobes look like VT.

split DT aren't HM.

Sherbert was a DTHM

A heart is someplace between. Sherbert's tails were almost perfectly round but he had a little peach dimple at the center. Petco sells these as HM when they're mixed breed DTHM...
A true HM has one caudial, sherbert (and little boy! found another) have two caudial

I've been rather perplexed about what he was, his lobes are perfectly round and split all the way in. He wasn't labeled at Pet Supplies Plus where I got him. He was the only non VT in the shipment they had just put on the shelf. He looks unusual to me.

Your boy has a nicedeep caudal split. Anyway, heart tails are basically doubletails that have nearly fused caudal lobes and rounded caudal edges... if that helps at all. By the way, there is no standard class for for heart tails for showing purposes.

He's a double tail. I can't tell from that pic but I also think he's probably a VT.. could be a delta though.
