QT plants

I plan on starting a sorority (I may have mentioned this maaaany times in passing, heh) but I was thinking about the plants I'm going to put in it. I know they should be qted, can come with lots of nasty surprises, even a few nice ones too I suppose. But what I'm wondering is is it okay to qt a bunch together? And how long is a good time? Also do you need to give them much room? (I can't imagine, but here's asking) and do you need to give them a swishing in the water, or fresh water daily?

Sorry if this seems a little silly, but I figure I'll end up starting out with my plants in qt for a while before I get my tank set up, just to be safe.

Thanks for help with the silly questions!
