For anyone who doesn't know, I am running a betta rescue - people can drop off sick or unwanted bettas with me to care for. Today for the first time, I got a girl! I am wondering if she is a marble? I am also wondering if you think the purple on her fin is her coloring or some kind of ammonia damage?

She was in hardly any water when I found her about 20 mins ago, I added a little so she could swim. She's pale. I immediately went to goodwill to look for a tank or suitably large vase or something and found a 1 gal drum bowl, so she'll be living there. I'll post photos of her tank set up when I come back from this job interview later! Wish her luck <3

She is cute! I finally got... (dun dun dunnnn) a moss ball! And this cute peace sign thing from petsmart since I got the tank for 3 dollars. She seems ok, she can't eat. I gave her the smallest pellets I could find in and she wasn't able to keep them down unfortunately.

I was wondering though, how did you start a Betta rescue and how does it work? I've never heard fo anything like it.

There are some other members on here who do something similar - Yoshesmom for example.

I put up a flier with my address saying I'd take in bettas that were unwanted, sick, etc basically. If you go through a page or three in this photos section you'll see my first thread, and that explains exactly what I did - as well as the other bettas I received.
