Meet Cloak and Dagger

Hello Betta People,
I just picked up these two guys from Petco. They are Cloak (Halfmoon) and Dagger (Crowntail) and they live in a 10g divided tank. I be adding a few more creatures pretty soon..... update to follow.

Thank you. I did a lot of searching and finally found the right ones. Cloak is definetly interesting looking. Dagger looks great all the time but Cloak has to be in the right mood to really show off his colors. Plus, the two seem to get along with each other. I can't tell if Cloak is a young betta or just small but he is much smaller then most bettas I have seen.

Welcome to the forum. Gorgeous Bettas! Just a side note, those leaf hammocks are down WAY too far. They're meant to be about an inch below the surface so the Betta can sleep on them without needing to swim to the top for air. Also, if you don't have a heater, you'll need to get one. Bettas are tropical fish and require 78-80* F water. Also, you should only add snails or shrimp to that tank. Any other tank mates would crowd it too much. They may also enjoy some tall plants to rest in.

Thanks. I will move the leafs.... And I have a heater but the area I live in is really hot and the water temp hasn't dropped below 80. But I will install the heater anyways this weekend. Tall plants should be going in soon and as far as tank mates, if it gets too crowded or the betta are stressed I will remove them and put them in one of my other tanks. I probably won't exceed more then 3 on each side.

I have two empty tanks that I will be filling soon. I would love to have a betta in my 46g tank but I want to try out other fish.

Okay, but it REALLY is not advisable to put tankmates in a 5 gallon space. Not only will it up the bioload significantly, but in a smaller space, the Betta is more likely to take out its aggression on the fish. Just a warning.
