I'm very sorry. My dog was put down when I was younger and I was really broken up about it so I know your pain. Take comfort in the fact that you provided him with such a happy life and that it's not really goodbye for now.

I'm so sorry, Abby...

I went through the same thing a few years ago. Unless you've had to put down a dog before you can never understand how it hurts. Just remember it is for his own good. No more pain.

He was put down at 11:30 and brought home and buried in the rain under the frangapani tree (frangapani being the flower we put in my mums grave on her coffin in 2004 and she gave hendrix to me so it seemed fitting)
He was bagged at the vet, a plastic bag inside a cotton bag and they are both biodegradable. i also slipped his little bed under the plastic bag inside the cotton one.
He went rather quickly and is as Doggyhog said no longer in pain.

Typically its been raining all day stopping slightly when we buried him

I am so sorry, Abby. :( I had to have my rottie put down due to cancer years ago..he was in so much pain that it was the best decision for him. It was probably the hardest thing I've ever had to do.

I wish you strength during this very difficult time.
