So I recently purchased a Betta and before putting him into his new tank I tested everything. Ammonia and Nitrites were perfect. But PH seemed a bit high. I have the Master kit for water testing and I believe at highest the ph is 8.2.
I have some trouble with the color chart so it may be around 7.6 at the least.
I went ahead and tested the water in the little cup the Betta came in and it tested exactly the same. So I went ahead and put him in the tank anyway.
(Tank is a tetra Small wonders tank with a filter.)
My question is will my filter fix the PH level? We have purchased a Reverse Osmosis system for our house but it could be at least a month before we install it. (Its for us as well as the fish)
Now I do have the option to purchase RO water from my pet store if I need to. Should I go ahead and just do these as a temporary solution? or are my pH levels ok enough that my fish can wait?
really any information at all about Betta pH levels would be appreciated.
