Place in a small QT (1gal or so), add in AQ salt as recommended (1tsp/gal) and stress coat which works with the salt and will help regenerate tissue. Daily 100% water changes. Would do for no longer then the 10 day recommendation for the salt. If there is anything else, I'm sure someone who knows more will help. But this should get you started. I'm so sorry to hear this :( I hope he gets better soon!

It helps maintain the slime coat and keeps out the bad bacteria. It's not the same as the salt we use, just make sure it's completly dissolved.

Poor guy =( It doesn't look like it will kill him as long as his water is cleaned while the tissue is healing.

Even if the aq salt stings for him, it's better than having the wound get infected. in this case, mild discomfort is the better choice I think.

My only addition to the advice would be high protein food and lots of sleepy time.

Feed a little more blood worms than you do other foods. Like replace 2-3 of the meals he gets during the week with blood worms instead of the usual. Or if you have something a little higher in protein I'd feed more of that.

I usually feed bloodworms every other day as a normal meal, since they are the frozen kind, they are good for them. Besides i have to feed the loaches the blood worms anyway. So should i feed, say, two days blood worms one pellets, repeat?
