As for the leftovers, after refrigerating for a day, I do this all the time with bloodworms, and plan on starting with glassworms: You can wash them down your kitchen or bathroom drain, maybe a fish in the sewer system will appreciate them. Or dump them in a storm drain outside your house, again, these often contain small fish.
