Betta Fish bloated......maybe egg bound?

My female betta fish is has been bloated for a couple weeks, I have fasted her when I thought it was constipation, but nothing happened. She has regular bowel movements. Could she be egg bound. I don't think it is dropsy because she swims normally and eats normally.

Here is a picture

Hmmm. My betta has the same thing. I'd like to know what it is too.

Welcome to the forum......

Looking at the pic...she looks fine....nice round tummy....any other symptoms-like buoyancy problems, lethargic, stops eating/pooping, clamp fins....

Need some more information-
Tank size, how much and how often are the water changes, water temp, filter, live plants, additives used, type of food, how old is she, how long have you had her, has she ever been spawned, can she see a male or in the same water as a male.....

I have had her for about a month and a half. She is currently in a half gallon tank, but I plan on moving her into a two gallon tank very soon. Her water temperature is about 78 degrees. And I feed her tropical fish flakes, but once i have time to go to a pet store I am buying her betta pellets. She has good energy and swims around the tank like she always has.

also she is not near any males, but bloated about two weeks after I got her from the pet store. She was very small when I got her from the pet store and her ovipositor was not visible until she became bloated.

If she is otherwise acting and eating like her normal self and not having any buoyancy problems...nothing to worry about-provided that she is receiving proper care......that being-in a half gallon-3 water changes a week...2-50% and 1-100% to maintain water quality.....

She is a lovely lady...nice find.....

Look forward to seeing more pic when you upgrade and hearing more about your Betta adventures......

I usually do 100% water changes every three to four days. She has not spawned before because I got her when she was very small....she has grown at least 3/4 an inch since I have gotten her. I also use betta conditioner in her water.
