Shout-out to the forum

One month ago, I was just a girl hanging out at the fair with friends, lucky enough to have won a betta at a rip-off fair game. When i came home, i wandered to the basement, and found a one gallon pickle jar that was supposed to be used for canning in a few weeks, found daddy's drill and made air holes in the top, and asked around the neighborhood for spare plants and gravel. Setting up this litle tank was quite the accomplishment for me, and I was pleased at how cute it turned out and how happy my little franky seemed to be. The next day I came upon this forum, looking up the -somewhat obvious now- important information on betta care. Since the day I won Franky, he has been in his pickle jar, another one gallon tank, with an airstone and "undergravel filter" (also decorated quite nicely if i do say so myself) :p, and is now happily swimming in a 10 gallon tank (complete with heater and filter) with his new tankmates; two red onion snails, and 2 salt and pepper catfish. My little sister was so intrigued by Franky, that I gave her the upgraded one gallong that now house her own betta. :)

i can honestly say that this forum and all the help i've recieved over the weeks, is what has kept Franky alive and thriving. Thanks guys!

i've included a picture of his new home (the best my camera could get without flash), the themes dont really mesh right now, because every decoration for every tank he's had is in there :p

Awwww that's awesome. Nice job! =]

My tanks are a mix of natural plants and hodge podge decorations and household items and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Yea! for Frankie and you. Tank looks good. One suggestion would be to baffle your filter, it looks a bit strong. There is a sticky on this forum on how to accomplish such a task.
