Question Hydro Sponge Filter

I have a 10 gallon with an Aqueon 10 HOB Filter, baffled with a sponge in front of the output.

I'm thinking about adding a Hydro Sponge Filter 2 and placing it on the other side.

My reasoning is...
1. Having a second filter would be good to have to house some more bacteria to help keep the tank cycled.

2. Would also help as a second filter just for overall cleanliness. (I would still keep the same water change schedule... I just hate seeing my tanks being dirty).

3. And this part is ... I don't know. With the Aqueon filter being baffled at the out, there is almost no movement on the water surface. I know most Bettas like having calm water on top... and mine does too. I'm thinking that with the air bubbles disrupting the surface water just a little bit with the sponge filter, it would help keep the tank cleaner by moving the water more.

What are your thoughts?
