Newbie to Betta fish - Feeding question!

Hey everyone. I went to the LFS today to get the essentials for my Betta (and a net) for when I get him tomorrow. The net is to catch the fish that are in my tank atm that I'm taking back to the LFS when I get my Betta. I wanted to get My betta pellets and knew to feed him 3 in the morning and 3 at night, but unfortunately they only had flakes (one good thing is that they have 48% protein and it's from the well known brand Tetra, plus inside the tub there is quite a few shrimp and krill and they also contain colour enhancers). Just wanted to know, how much of the flakes do I feed him every day and also at what times? Thanks in advance for any help given! Hopefully will get a response before I get him tomorrow!!!!

Flakes usually aren't recommended as theres no really way of telling how much your betta is actually eating, bettas can be greedy.

Altho i'm no expert so hopefully someone else can help you aswell

I think you should feed 5-8 flakes.

Is that once a day or twice? Doesn't sound like a lot lol. Also, the tub contains shrimp+krill, should I include those too?

Does this sound ok to do? Three flakes when I wake up and a piece of krill/shrimp, and then the same again when I have tea? Also, is it a good idea to feed him frozen bloodworms when I take him out to do a water change? Just so he's more happy to go in because he'll know he's getting some??

Yes and if you don't do water change too much you can feed him frozen bloodworm.If you start thinking you are feeding too much stop feeding frozen bloodworms.

In that case you can feed him frozen bloodworms and you welcome.I have to think hard to help you with this,because I'm kind of new to betta since I can't keep my first 2 bettas(And 2 more other pets) alive for long,and well I been in this website for about 5 hours.

Flakes are fine as long as they are formulated for bettas. Flakes can be rathger messy though and it can be hard to judge how much to feed.
