Gabriel.. and his crushed fin. :(

Same story, I went in for a Marimo Moss Ball...
and I love white bettas. I've never seen one. This guy was sitting in his cup, and lo and behold, I had to have him. :O






But the poor little guy seems to be having some trouble with his back and lower fin.. he can swim on them but tends not to. He kinda wiggles along the bottom of his QT tank. It doesn't look like any diseases so I guess something must have squished him in shipment or something.. :C

Well I've got him in some water with AQ Salt and I lowered the level so it doesn't take him so much energy to get to the top of the tank.. And he's a beautiful white butterfly halfmoon, I swear he's gorgeous. I named him Gabriel, it seems fitting. :)

he's a halfmoon (: and he has butterfly coloring- white to a point and then transparent there out.

poor guy, i have to feed him food with tweezers :c i gotta lower his water level some more. i caught him chillaxing on the leaves i put in his tank though :P

I had a better look at him and his rear is less crushed as it is completely sliced from the end to his body.

It looks like someone took a pair of scissors to him.. :/

And I'm not really sure whether or not I should use AQ salt in his tank.. Since he has a (pretty much) open wound would that just agitate it?

Maybe add stress coat? To promote fin regrowth? It seems to be healing my guy's chewed fins pretty well.

i've been using it. :3 it worked really well on pierce's fins when he had fin rot, so i figured it'd help this guy too.

Sweet! I added AQ salt when my booy chewed his fins, and it didn't seem to irritate anything.
