Can you get a picture of him flaring? It would help to see him better! (very pretty btw!)

i know what i did was a DUMB idea but i netted another beta from another tank and put him in there while he was in the net kinda like a net breeder and the betta that i out up a pic of swam away and hid behind a plant. I KNOW IT WAS A D.U.M.B IDEA

yes, VERY dumb idea, never put betta males together. it can cause injury and even death if they get in a fight (which, 9 times out of 10, they will). As for the fish, he's a multi-color doubletail, possibly a marble (does he ever change colors? if he does then he's a marble). He's beautiful, his dorsal fin is soooo long!!! i'd love to have one like that some day =)

Just from the shape of the body and tails i would say he is a double tail... Possibly salamander? I am probably wrong about that... He is beautiful though... And sometimes if i have a guy that is being stubborn about flaring -coughMIDAScough- i will cup another betta and float him in the tank for a while to get him fired up before using a mirror for photo shoots.

the other male was in a net were he was still separated but they could still see each other it was like a net breeder where it hangs over the top so the other fish could not get to the fish in the net the fish bowl he is in i temporary he will go into a bigger tank at least in 1 week or 2 and thanks for all the nice complements on him

That's fine, as long as the male wasn't in the tank loose. Next time, instead of putting him in the tank, put the male in a small cup next to the bowl the other betta is in.
