Question Safe?

Do you think it would be safe to leave a betta in a 2.5 gallon tank for one week without a filter system in it? My tendency would be to say no, but I'm not 100% sure.

Will you be able to perform water changes?

I don't know......probably wouldn't die but you ma have some diseases to deal with. I wouldn't recommend it. Is there a friend you could leave your betta with?

Well, I don't actually have that betta yet. I saw the neatest tank that was 2.5 gallons, but it doesn't come with any filter system. How would you preform water changes in a 2.5 gal. tank? 25% water change every couple days?

In a 2.5 gallon, unfiltered tank, you'll want to do a bare minimum of 1 50% and 1 100% water change per week, with 2 50%s and 1 100% or just simply 2 100%s being ideal.
I, personally, find my 2-2.5 gallons to get dirty rather quickly(though maybe I'm just a tad picky)and so I preform 100% changes every other day....but thats just me.

Of course, you could just see if you could find a filter....

The 1 50% and 1 100% water change per week is ideal, you can have too clean of water. A wise Oldfishlady once told me about that on a one gal =) so assuming that is more then adequate for a larger unfiltered tank.

From my experience, I, personally, find that to be a little too infrequent.....but thats just my opinion based on my experience.
