Indian almond leaves

Hi
I just wondered what other people do with their leaves, do u just put them in the tank?, or do u make a tea out of them?. I was asking as i normally put them in whole but they never seem to make the water very dark.
Thank you

It takes a few days before the water starts looking brown really. I use whole leaves or pieces. I don't want to boil off anything that might be beneficial - but the tea is alot less messy too.

I read that oak leaves can be substituted. Is that true?

What's a good grade to buy? I'm on ebay looking at some, there are Grade A-C.. I assume Grade A is better?
