Right now, I am in a predicament. It is getting really cold where I live, and my mom's fish is being affected. The poor female (Belle), is currently in a one gallon tank with no heater and an under gravel filter. I really wish I could put her in my heated 10g with no fish currently, even for just the winter, but my parents would disagree. I am not allowed to even change the water because my parents like to rub it in my face that their fish with the 1g tank, no heater, and NO WATER CHANGES, has survived without sickness and that all of my fish die. So I need your help fish forumers, what would be a good heater for a 1g tank? I will try to negotiate something tonight with my parents, but I don't know how good it will go.

Yes it is. I've used it and it keeps my 2.5 tank at a comfy 78 degrees.

I have one in my 3g. I like it :) I don't keep the 2cm of gravel over mine though like the pkg says because I keep my tank in the kitchen window and I found covering it wasn't effective. But in a heated living room or whereve they keep it and in a 1g I would cover the heater so that it does not over heat!
I hope you can convince your (*ignorant*) parents to accept this heater!

I would personally go with something adjustable if you can..most adjustable heaters have a shut off when the temperature reaches the right temperature but I dont see anything about a shut off on that heater.... A 1 gallon is difficult to heat..And it can easily be over heated..I would try to get the betta atleast into a 2 gallon so you can safely warm the water. 2 gallon critter keepers are about 8 dollars.

I actually just bought that heater for my 1gal hospital bowl. My little guy seems to love it. I've found him sleeping on it many a time. In fact he's doing it right now. I would get that heater, and just sneak it in your parents tank. ;) Because they take such good care of her, they're bound to notice, right? /sarcasm

Also that's horrible of your parents to do that to you. *hugs*
