Hi! I just got a new Betta fish 2 days ago, and since yesterday, Bernard (my fish) has been flaring at his own reflection on the glass and the top of the water. He also swims quickly against the glass. He's eating normally and looks forward to food(he eats actually quite fast)...Bernard swallows a pellet in 5 seconds AT MOST. However, when I put my finger against the glass, he swims away...I'm worried he will get stressed out or hurt himself as he does this for extended periods of time. I tried turning off the aquarium light and the room light, but Bernard continues to flare (there's still some reflection/shadow).
Betta fish: Royal blue crown-tail
Tank: 2.5 gallons (filter and heater)
Temperature: 79 degrees Fahrenheit
Brought home: Tuesday, September 6th
There is a hiding place and plants for Bernard.
I'm not sure if this is normal or not, since this is my first time owning a Betta fish or any other kind of fish at all!
