Fin rot?

Alright, so i noticed today my betta's fins were looking sort of raggedy.... is it fin rot? And if so, what's the best way to treat it?

He's around four year's old, and lives in a filtered one gallon. He still eats vigorously, and is active. As far as I can remember he was never sick. I haven't done anything yet....I'm not sure what to do. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Can you tell from these?

Hard to tell, but I don't see any black edging. Is it fraying or splitting or missing chunks?

I still don't see any fin rot. What I do see is new fin growth (clear-whitish coloring at the edges). If it was rot, it would be noticeably black and really frayed. It looks as if he may of nibbled on it and now it is growing back. Keep him in clean water (unsure how big your tank is.. 1g to 2.5 I would suggest 1 50% and 1 100% change per week, bigger I would lessen. Also depending if it is filtered.
So keep up with the changes to prevent fin rot, and some stress coat during the changes will help promote fin regrowth. =)

You're welcome. I get worried too sometimes, especially at first I was always thinking the worst case lol. Keep an eye on his fins to make sure he isn't eating them, if that's the case there are ways to try to discourage it. Other then that, he looks like a healthy lil guy =)
