Strange behavior

I moved my HM betta, Hue, into a 2.5gal tank yesterday and I noticed that he liked to swim by/around the heater and today his behavior has gotten worse. He'll swim around the tank leisurely, and then come back to the corner/side of the heater and then swim quickly in a jerky/twitchy manner down until he hits something, like the gravel, the glass, or the plastic rock formation. He'll pause, not moving any fins, and the repeat this. I saw him do this for at least 10 minutes. He's eating regularly and not showing any signs of sickness that I can tell.
Does anyone know why he might be doing this? Hue's my first betta, so any info would help. Thanks!

He may just like how it feels. Maybe moving the heater to a different location to see how he reacts? If he continues doing it at the new location, then I would say he is enjoying the heat lol. Does he have any white spots on him? Only thing I could think of is ich and he is itchy. If not.. then just continue monitoring him and his diet to see if there is any other odd behavior that happens.
