Exclamation PVC pipe adhesive harmful?

There were stickers on the plastic PVC pipe I bought awhile ago, and the adhesive that was left behind isnt coming off very well. Is it harmful to the tank? I need to know pretty quick, because I'm using them for my 4 bronze cories coming in today. Fyi they arent in the tank yet. Thanks so much! :D

when i have glue residue to get off I leave it sit in the sink in HOT water for about 30 minutes, and then I scrub it with a rough dish washer thing, the little plastic rough ones, and it always takes it off, best of luck

Another way to get any glue residue off 99% of things is use peanutbutter :P

I know it sounds odd, but its a home remedy we use here often - it even took hot tar off my car's bumper!

I normally peel the stickers off, then put some smooth or chunky peanutbutter on the areas that have glue on it. I rub it in for about 2 or 3 mins then let it stand for 10 and then rub again for 2 mins and then wash it off.

It works like a charm and its peanutbutter - nothing bad in there for the fish once its been rinsed off.

o__o what a strange remedy. If scrubbing it after it's been soaking in hot water doesnt work, I will certainly try that! It sounds interesting!

Sand paper should be easy to find :) Though the peanut butter method sounds interesting! I may have to try that next time myself...

Are you talking about the adhesive from like a price tag or label...if so-it most likely isn't a problem...another good thing to use that is all natural to remove adhesive...is the rind off orange peel or lemon/lime/grapefruit...the oils from the orange peel usually will melt it off in no time and it smells good and harmless to aquatic life.....
