Question New Tank

I but my betta into a new and slightly bigger tank. I did everything the way I was supposed to, cleaned it and let the water sit so it was the same temperature as the old one and everything else you are supposed to do. Its been 2 days now and Balthazar has eaten nothing but one freeze dried blood worm and is barely swimming or flaring. He seems to be staying in this one corner of the tank most of the time.

Is anything wrong is he just still adjusting to having a new tank?

I'm sorry to hear he's not his usual self.

With the new tank - does it have a heater and places to hide?

Is your new tank filtered and heated? Sometimes if the filter is too strong a betta will hide on one side of the tank.

I would lean to this as a strong possibility. Do you have more information about his tank? Size...filtered or not, and if there is a filter, which brand, size, etc.

Its 2.5 gallons, an improvement from his 1 gallon, he has two plants and the spongebob pineapple to hide in and I'm using the same water conditioner I used for his old tank (7 drops per gallon). I have a filter for it, but I'm not running it until I have the time to fix it so it disturbs the water less cause he is a little guy

It HAS been excessively cold the last couple of days so that could be it, I put a heater in the tank yesterday afternoon and have been watching the temp on the thermometer I just bought. The warm up is slow going so we will see when I get home tonight if warmer water helps out. I hope so lol, he used to come and eat off my finger, and now he just swims away and hides.

Quick update! I've raised the temperature of his tank by 10 degrees, and he seems a lot more active but he still won't eat his pellets.

What's the temp at, out of curiosity?

I wouldn't worry too much, it can take them awhile to get used to a new, bigger tank. My boy Ammo took about a week to really start swimming around and flaring at me after I moved him to a 6.6gal after being in a .5gal vase for a couple months.
