Different Kinds of Shrimp

I'm looking for some shrimp to take care of an algae problem in my tank. I'd prefer cherry shrimp because of their red color (tan-colored sand) but I've heard that Amanos are best at algae eating. Can anyone tell me how cherry shrimp and red crystal shrimp are at eating algae compared to ghost and Amano shrimp? Do shrimp climb into plants like water wisteria to eat brown algae off the leaves? And can they eat diatome algae off the glass? Advice and insight would be most appreciated, friends.

I know that Cherry shrimp is a omnivore vs. Amano shrimp is a herbivore.
The cherry shrimp might not be a thorough with the algae because they'll eat anything, not sure of this, but they will eat fish food also.
Amano shrimp is a strict herbivore, so I'm guessing since it specializes it'd do better getting rid of algae, and if they did eat it all they'd starve unless you supplemented them.. This website should be helpful- it has all their needs and everything.. for algae I'm pretty sure the amano would be best.

Amano shrimp are the best choice. They are the best algea eaters and are less likely to be killed by fish.
