Ok well first you should upgrade that tank. 2L is a bit small. You might want to try 2 gallons or more. It isn't recommended to have a lamp heating him, but even if you do you need to have a thermometer! Maybe the temperature is way to hot or way to cold. It could be stressing him too. From the pic it doesn't seem to serious though. To me it kinda just looks like the angle from which you took the picture? But if you say it has been happening for 4-5 days? Is he eating? Do you have any pictures of him from before this happened? If not, where is fins always like this? Even a bit?

its definitely not the angle... he doesnt seem to have the flowing movement in his fins when he swims. he still eats fine (believe me) and no, his fins weren't always like this.

ill head out and get a thermometer tomorrow hopefully :)

Thats good that you are getting a thermometer, I was not trying to sound mean in the other post, but you really should have one! ;) That is a very pretty boy, you've got. But I can't seem to figure out what it is, I am going to try and do some research for you. In the meantime, if you are really concerned about him, you could add aquarium salt to your tank (I would say QT, but they tank is only 2L), premix the water and do a water change then add the water premixed with salt (1tsp/gallon). But I wouldn't do that yet unless you feel you really need to. And when you get a thermometer, you can raise your temperature to about 80 if it isnt already there, a higher temperature helps with healing. Is he acting any different since this has started? I am not an expert though, I am going to need the help of some of my fellow betta keeper to solve this one. I am wondering if it could be fin rot? If he has been doing it for 4-5 days, you might want to look for other signs of illness?

The problem is your tank is too little so he has no room to move, and your probably not changing the water enough. Get a bigger tank and he will be fine :D

Since his tank is so small, I would do more frequent water changes. Ammonia will build up fast in something that small.

He got like that after a water change, right?
I would do a 100% change as soon as you can. Maybe something with the current water is bothering him, like maybe something was on you hands and it got into the tank or you forgot the conditioner, ect. My experience is that when they get clamped fins but have no other visible sings of illness, its a water quailty issue.

If you want to give him more room but are on a budget, clear storage containers work well and are usually very cheap. I got a few guys living in 1-2 gallon containers right now myself.

Fin rot usually results in the fins looking raggidy with a black outline around the rot part.
