Exclamation Moving 2 betta's? Help.

Hey,

So my husband and I just bought a house and were moving at the end of the month. So my question.... What is the best way to move my 2 betta's and 3 apple snails?

How long of a drive is it to the new place? It's probably fine to just put them in their cups, then put the cups in a cooler (without any ice, obviously :P )

I've never had to move fish, but I'd imagine that they would be ok for about 10 minutes or so in a plastic bag (even a large enough zip-loc) as long as you remembered some air at the top. Just use some of their current tank water and when you get to the new place remember to acclimate them to the new water.

You can put them in gladware containers, put the containers in a cooler with heat packs and transport them that way.

I would pack like you're shipping them, insulated box (styrofoam coolers are perfect), double bagging (your local fish store or chain petstore will give you like 10 bags for free if you ask), more air than water, lots of crumpled newspaper so they don't get thrown around too much and a hand warmer to tape to the lid of the styro (be careful, they get HOT, 130F as an average and can kill your fish if they come into direct contact with the bag).
