So I bought a fish last Monday that I thought was gonna die. He'd been in the same place at our LFS for a month, and he was all clamped and skinny and .. terrible looking. I bought him cause I'd seen him a few times and finally caved, I felt sorry for him so I thought.. well if you don't make it you'll at least have a clean place to pass.
This is what he looked like:
So I gave him a clean two gallon QT tank, 100% daily changes, AQ salt, garlic soaked pellets. Feeding him was definitely the hard part.. he didn't eat that much for the first few days, and even then ate just fractions of garlic soaked pellets.
Here he is now:
He now eats whole pellets, more than three a day (feeding him more than usual because he's still skinny), has been fattening up happily, swims around his tank actively, blows bubbles, chases my finger, and overall has recovered beautifully! :D
I really can't believe it's just been a week.. his recovery felt like a month. But he perked up so quickly. :)
So yeah, just showing off his optimistic change. I moved him to a divided 10 gal today cause he seemed ready and healthy enough for the change. /teardrop
