Started to get some pearling on my plants... I recently set up a light timer for a full 11.5 hours of light.
The sand substrate is soooo much better than the gravel. easier to keep clean. the plants are rooting in - the swords took off with root tabs. I've pruned them back, got some nice new leaves coming in. Both the amazon and argentina swords..
The hygrophila - it did what I read, I was losing leaves left and right due to shock, seems to be bouncing back now though. I have new leaf growth from the stem - and it's pearling the most. still a nice shade of green.
two new sprouts from the dwarf lily bulb.
I'm considering propagating the anubia. it was at least a 5 leave starter when I first got it, but it's nearly trippled in growth and almost outgrowing the rock it's attached to. Considering tethering it to the driftwood I have in the tank.
residence are good. Sammich looks much brighter and healthier - though the substrate change did a number on him and stressed him out bad. Chips (cana snail) keeps truckin' keeps the algea at bay from the fert dosing.
Also found a small LFS (not one of the major chains) who has an amazing selection of bettas, super energetic, healthy looking.. So, if they're still open in like 2 years, I know where I'm getting my next betta.
