Betta with stubborn finrot?:(

So i got my little betta about two months ago and his fins were in perfect condition when i got him. But lately hes gotten progressively worse fin rot. Hes extreemely active and pigs out like no other fish ive seen but it still worries me. I keep his water crystal clean(30% change every day to get rid of the fin rot) and theres no ammonia.

I recently realized it might be because im constantly walking by his tank...could this stress him our enough to get fin rot?

Bettas enjoy interacting with their environment (including you), so it shouldn't be your walking by that's causing the trouble.

What size tank is he in?
What temperature is his tank?
When did you start to notice a problem?
Are you able to post a clear picture of his tail?

Could use a bit of info on this for Ember as well. She came home with bad fin rot, she's almost at her ten days... anyway, I'm just posting to keep up to date with this and lurk. .-.

I don't think it's fin rot if there aren't any darkened edges.

Does it looks like there are chunks missing? Like this:

If it does, he might be ripping his fins on some of his decorations, getting caught in the filter, or tail biting.

BlakbirdxGyarados, im prety sure yours is finrot, it looks just likke mine.
The redness in his fins also concerned me because i thought it might be ammonia poisonig but im not so surer thats possible considering how clean i keep my water....

Your guy has a butterfly coloration, meaning that he has 2 colors on his tail in a solid pattern where the inner tail is one color and the edges are the second color. the red looks to be his natural coloring.

As far as the damage to his tail, it looks like either ripping or biting. Fin rot tends to rot away entire sections of the tail so it's smooth, not rough like biting.

Does he have and sharper plastic plants or caves in his tank? Those are usually the culprit. He could be getting pushed into them by the filter,s o that's another thought.

All his plants are plastic and i made sure to round off te edges with scissors before putting them in the tank...ive never seen him bitting his own tail, but then again i am gone half the day...anyone know what would cause them to do that?

Too much or too little light, too bright of lights, weather related stress, stress, aggression, boredom. Plenty of stuff.

What's your light schedule? Do you keep it on all day or only for a few hours? Is it on during the night? any storms in your area recently or coming up?
