Tore Fins :x

my newest baby is a HM M. His fins are all torn. So i have him in a 2.5 gal. quarantine tank until he heals up, but the filter broke this morning :X so is it safe to keep treating him with AQ salt and water conditioner with a daily water change? Or should i temporarily switch him out with my first Betta, Sherbert. He has a 5 gal. tank setup. D: Please help!! I'm stressin out! lol

He should be fine with daily water changes. How long have you been doing the salt treatment? If you wish to continue the salt treatment, make sure you don't do it for longer then 10 days at 1tsp/gal. Looks like he is biting his fins, in that case his normal tank with stress coat during each water change will help regrow his fins. Also watch out for those spiky plastic plants.. they are notorious for ripping fins. Had a small one with one of my guys that was connected to his cave and he ripped his fin the first night he had it in. Had to cut off the plant.

No problem =)
Salt treatments are good for external issues, such as fin rot. But I don't see the black frayed edging that comes with it. The only plant I saw that could be a problem is the pink one. They like to swim amongst their plants so that could be the culprit. But do keep an eye out if you keep seeing half moon shaped tears.. means he's nomming on his tail still. But daily mirror exercises and such can help with that.

Clean water is usually enough to mend fins.
My betta has a tear in his fins and it healed within a week 8D

Glad to hear! You'll see clear to whitish on the edges of the fins as they grow and in time they should go close to their normal coloring =)
