It could be Dropsy. They don'd always pinecone.

If you really care for him that much, I would see a vet. Unless you are sure this is a parasite.

Shows all the symptoms of parasite and has has a run in with worms before so I'm 80% sure that's what it is. Even if I was able to afford a vet, I wouldn't be able to get him to one until Saturday and that's assuming there's one around here that treats fish.

I don't know about bumping up the epsom salt. I've never gone above 3 tsp.

Hold out as best you can until thursday. I know bettas are carnivores, but you could probably try feeding him a small chunk of garlic to help out a bit more. y only worry with that would be him not pooping it out.

I hate to keep bumping this, but I just came back to say that Lando died peacefully this morning while I was in class. He took a turn for the worst I knew it was time. He will be sorely missed.

omgitslph, I'm so sorry you lost Lando. The two of you really put up a strong fight against everything that Lando had to deal with. You did a great job with him so take comfort in how well you took care of the little guy.

I know. :) I'm just glad he's no longer confined to a tupperware bowl all bloated up.
(Though today was just an awful day for deaths. I was alerted to the family sheep dog having to be put down after 14 years .___.)

I did get a new fish already thanks to my amazing boyfriend because he thought it would help ease the pain by having something new to take care (Even though I still have 3 other fish)

:( What a bummer for you. I'm sorry your day was so rotten but hopefully tomorrow looks brighter. Sorry about your sheepdog. I've always loved herding dogs.
