Here is what it looks like now on Sloopie- halos on his head (Pic 2 shows the spots around the mouth):
I put Sloopie in a QT tank a week ago due to his discolored spots. I had originally treated him with API Pimafix (for 3 days) but I saw no improvement...if anything he was more lethargic, so i started aquarium salt/100% water change treatments. He now is energetic and eats well. (Like a piggy if i would let him :) He is back to his old self.
My questions are: Do I need to treat with anything besides AQ salt and water changes? Can anything fungal like this turn into scars on the scales? I should add that Sloopie is a rescue fish that I have had for about 6 months. His fins were pretty frayed :( when I got him, so that isn't a symptom.
