Drake and Crest ready to go!

So my two beautiful bettas are ready to spawn and have been trying only a half hour after realizeing they can get to eachother!

They try 3 times and crest will swim away for 5 minutes and shed come back to try a couple more time.. it's been going on for a good 20 minutes now :) Then if she doesnt come back he goes out to find her. I'm amazed since I wasnt expecting them to try for their first time so quickly! Although no eggs have come out since he still hasent gotten a strong hold onto her lol

Is it normal for them to try so much so soon? Or am I just getting a little lucky..

Best of luck sometimes for new spawners it can take almost a whole day :p but good for you they are trying early, they will figure it out soon :)

Thanks, I figured it would be a day or two. I just fear one will lose interest, or if for some reason no eggs drop. He's gotten her in a pretty tight lock a couple times now but no eggs still. Or at least none fell, but he has gotten a little protective over that nest. He charged at me when I got a little close to check and see how they were doing. He will be a good father :)

So I thought that Drake lost interest in Crest after almost nipping her fins completely off.. so yesterday morning I took her out and decided to leave him in there since I had to go to work and he seemed very attached to that bubble nest.. Today my mother put a different female in there thinking it was empty because she was cleaning her tank and he guarded his nest still (even though it is only half the size it use to be) and I also noticed a couple eggs fall out. Or at least I think that is what it was. I could have been seeing things I guess..

Anyway is there any way that I can tell? I cant see anything but bubbles and my eyes already burn for stareing for a half hour stright without blinking to see if I could see anything.. I dont really worry they he will eat them after they start swimming since I have it almost completely packed with live plants. But if I never see them how will I know when to feed them?

Also would bbs be good for starting them? I have infurosia.. but it stinks >_< at least the one I have does..

in about 2 days if you have eggs you will see them, and you will see him swimming to the bottom and picking them up like crazy and putting them back in the nest....he will be very busy if u have eggs

Oh no worries I took her out the second my mother told me she put her in. But she's in her own tank again where she belonged :)
