Sanitizing equipment

Do you sanitize your nets and hoses between tanks? And if so, how do you do it?

I have one net that I use for everyone, I used to have 3 but they have swam away ... For hoses I have 2 gravel vacs and 2 long lengths of vinyl hose to fill tanks and also to drain from.

For sanitizing, you could mix up some vinegar and hot water between tanks to sanitize it that way. It just requires a lot of rinsing between tanks.

It might work out better if you change water on different days for each tank so that you could sanitize with hot water/vinegar and maybe some direct sunlight and heat from outside too.

I only have a small airline hose to change water on my smaller tanks and to vac up poop and food debris, and I don't always sanitize since I watch closely for any change in behavior all the time.

I usually find that a rinse with boiling water prevents most of the illnesses that my fish might get.

I bleach mine once a week and then rinse multiple times with hot water and then dechlorinate heavily and then rinse again. I've never had illness spread between tanks that way

I do have 2 fish only buckets. I used them before I set up my R/O unit and 50 foot hose ;P so I think I will have one with bleach water to disinfect between tanks/jars and another with dechlorinated water. I'll have to pick up a few more nets too so I don't have to wait a few mins while the one is being sanitized....
