Light Bulbs and Kelvins

I'm pretty much just starting to touch the surface of color temperature when it comes to lighting. I'm trying to find a good light bulb that's around 6500k, which I looked in PetSmart and I only saw two different bulbs that seemed to be able to fit my hood, the only thing is that the packages didn't have the kelvins listed. One of them on the front said "daylight/bluelight"- it had on the side the color temperatures the light produces, but at the time I couldn't really understand it... Here's the bulb:
http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...=Fish+Lighting

Now, from my understanding of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_temperature
Which has a small chart that says Temperature: 6500k/Source: Daylight, Overcast on the side, and a light bulb I saw from the walmart website:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/GE-Energy-...s-2pk/17203795
Which also says it's daylight and is 6500k, would anyone say that the one from PetSmart is 6500k as well? If anyone on here has had an Aqueon mini compact 50/50 flourescent light and knows how many Kelvins it has, please let me know! I'm trying to figure out a good light source for future plants...

Oh, and does anyone know about PAR or PPFD? I just now skimmed across it in a different forum when looking stuff up....
"But be warned that despite the given K value bulbs can appear and perform very differently. K values are not in any way an industry standard measurment.

If you really want to know whats best for plants, look to see if you can find the PAR or PPFD rating of a particular bulb. That rating will tell you how much light the bulb puts out that is avaliable to photosynthetic critters."

I think I'm gonna rack my brain with all this stuff I'm trying to comprehend at once >.<
