Jumpin' Bettas o.o

So.... Feeding the fish I noticed Madame (my 2.5 inch girl) can jump high so I measured. First she goes 1.5 inches. Then 1 and 3/4. And then... She jumps her length!!! 2.5 inches HIGH for jumping! My little Marge jumps 1 inch, and the other two don't jump (yet)

Jumpin' junipers... Er.... Bettas.......... O.o

Okay now Marge jumped 1.5 inches... Good grief o.O and now Tina joins in, with her half an inch :p

wow! i've never seen my guys jump, although just a minute ago i heard a thump and looked over and there was water splashed on the side of the tank above the water line so i think cash tried to jump but hit his head on the cover *facepalm*

I would LOVE for Peta to jump just once! The farthest he'll come out of the water is sticking his lips out for food or air :(

haha!!! You should see Marge jump.. she slaps herself against the side of the tank. Silly thing... And yeah Madame has shown herself to be quite a jumpy demanding finger muncher

I have noticed my males don't jump. Spartan does a little.

It's been known that bettas can jump to 3"... that's why when you have divided tanks, it's best to keep the water level 3" below the top of the divider.

I keep the water level up in 2 tanks because then the filter is not as strong flowing, while only one tank has an adjustable flow. But uh... kind of happy the water evaporates now o_O But, I got my non jumpy, submissive Rose with Spartan, who can't even jump half an inch lol. (is it the tails or something weighing them down?? lol)

I doubt it's the tail because Chance, my veil tail, could jump so high out of the water he would be completely out. And he had a gorgeous tail!
Spooky was a notorious jumper too. I haven't given Lore an chance to try to jump... I'll see this afternoon xD
A lot just depends on the fish. When Zim was "plakatfied" by Chance (jumped clear over the divider and beat the snot out of him) he still wouldn't jump and he looked for all the world like a plakat once his fins healed up a bit.

Haha wow... maybe mine are just lazy little butts? :p all my males don't jump/ My first two males I ever had, did. Both landed outside their tanks -.- And I'd pick em up, toss them back in, they'd hyperventilate, then all would be fine haha!!!
