i do one 50% and one 100% per week, you can baffle the filter so you can keep it on all the time. there's a sticky in the habitat sub forum on how to make a baffle.

2. How often does a betta need to be fed? (I currently feed 3 small pellets once in the morning and once at night)
4-6 pellets a day in 2-3 feedings. I do 2 pellets each time and i feed 3 times a day.

3. What temperature should my tank be/heater be set to?
78-80, i personally do 80

4. What is the best water conditioner? (Betta Care+, Stress Coat, etc.)
answered

5. Signs of a healthy betta? (Male)
good appetite, no clamped fins, active

Btw, VT's are dominant so if a HM and a VT Bred you would get VT's not a VT+HM. (off topic again, lol back to questions.)

Please either baffle the filter or keep it off. By turning it on and off like that you just build up a few good bacteria and then turn the filter off and kill it - this causes ammonia spikes in your tank which is very unhealthy for all fish.
