Angry Gonna kill my kid !!

I came out of the potty this morning and found my 2 year old had dumped a whole bottle of seasoning in my goldfish tank
Thank god my house is so hot betta tanks where only three degrees warmer.
So I grabbed jar of water out of spirits tank(he gave me a very dirty look too)
Had to use my hand to get the guys out and put them in the fresh.
Set up my back up 1.5 tank and moved them again.
I hope they do ok after a mega dose of sea salt and two water/temp changes.

I'm just happy the bettas have real good covers on their tanks!

You might want to think about putting your tanks up where your 2 year old can't reach them. Probably the same for all your seasonings too.

OMG, that sounds really scary. If that happened to my fish, I don't think I can imagine how fast I'd move to try to save them. =p
Annd... when I have kids, I'll have to look out for that!
Hope they're okay though... and it's neat you have goldfish. I wish I had some but I don't have too much money right now.

Yeah - the reason the papa of my 1st spawn died? My then 3 year old. He found the net and climbed on the counter and tried to catch him .. but instead tortured him to death :( I was NOT happy and believe me, he knew it. He genuinely felt bad for killing him, and has left my fish alone since then.

And I have to say we can't realistically put up tanks to the ceiling to keep our young'uns away from them. Even then they WILL find a way to get to them. I promise you that lol. No offense, but you obviously don't have willful spirited kids ;)

And to lock up our aquariums where we couldn't enjoy them all the time? Then what's the point of keeping fish? Sometimes accidents happen, nothing you can do to prevent them. You teach your kids to leave certain things alone, just like you wouldn't pick up everything in the house out of reach when you have kids. It's just not at all feasible.

You can be thankful it was only seasoning and salt. When my daughter was a todller, she dumped handsoap bubbles in a fry tank.

Uh, Sea Salt? Nobody else catch that? I hope OP meant Aquarium Salt by API! Sea Salt will kill your fish.
