Hmm well okay then :D I'll see if one of the males (hopefully fry from this pretty spawn) is what I want to breed, then go and get a betta from the city ^^ so far the male's never hurt her, just strutted, beckoned, and brushed against her lol. What a gentleman...

Ok so finally a spawn update on this thread lol. After the majority of the spawn never gained control of their swim bladders I culled all of them but the ones who were healthy. That left me with under 10 fry. While that is a disappointing I still feel lucky that I have the remaining fry. The fry are now 2 months old and would have larger fins if it weren't for being housed with a larger spawn. I saw the fin damage and moved the spawn into their own tank, and now they are doing much better. As far as I can tell they are all red with no blue or iridescence. If I have a decent female I may breed her back to her father.

Lol when I see them darting around like that, I just wanna break out in the 'just keep swimming' song by Dory in finding nemo haha! They're sooo adorable :)

I'm sorry that so many had swam bladder issues, but at least you have some beautiful fry to enjoy.
