Jalen usually runs from his reflection, but today he had built a bubble nest for the first time in several months (probably because he got his heater last night), and I took that as a sign of masculine courage. So I propped a mirror up next to his tank, ducked down so that he couldn't see me and would stop begging for food, and waited. He caught sight of his reflection, ran and hid, came back, hid again, then swam up to his bubble nest and started wiggling under it, fins spread out. The he began to repair it. He stayed under his nest, wiggling and blowing bubbles for about ten minutes, despite the fact that I removed the mirror.
It looked exactly like the displaying I've seen in videos of bettas spawning. I was laughing so hard. XD
